Firearm Usage
Do you allow the use of military-style firearms (AR-15s, MAK-90s, and SKSs)?
Yes, we welcome military-style firearms. However, you are responsible for being aware of all laws pertaining to both you and the firearms you own.
How many private ranges do you offer, and how big are they?
We offer a total of 19 private ranges, with lengths varying from 45 yards to just under 110 yards.
Can I use my high-capacity magazines?
Yes, you can use high-capacity magazines. Just remember, it's your responsibility to know all the laws governing their use and ownership.
What's the biggest caliber I can shoot there?
You can shoot all calibers up to and including .50 BMG at our ranges.
Do you allow rapid-fire?
Yes, rapid-fire is allowed, provided it is done safely. The range officer retains the authority to restrict rapid-fire at their discretion.
What's the longest distance offered there?
The rifle range has a maximum distance of 210 yards and 75 yards
on the pistol range.
Do I have to buy your ammunition, or can I bring my own?
You are welcome to bring your own ammunition; however, we offer competitive prices on common calibers. Please remember that "no steel core, steel jacket, or bi-metal ammunition" is allowed due to fire restrictions.
Do you allow airguns?
Yes, airguns are permitted on all ranges, but please ensure targets on the rifle range are placed at a minimum distance of 50 yards.
Can I shoot my bow and arrow?
Yes, bows and arrows are welcome on all private ranges.
Do you allow black powder firearms?
Yes, black powder firearms are permitted at our ranges.
Can I use my holster?
Yes, holsters are allowed, but only on private ranges.
Range Reservations
Can I reserve a private range?
Private ranges can be reserved by members on a first-come, first-served
basis when available.
How do I reserve a private range for my group?
Effective January 1, 2022, the cost is $40 per person with a $160 minimum charge, covering the first 4 shooters. Any additional shooters are $40 each. Reservations can be made in person or by phone at (626) 910-1344. A $40 deposit is required over the phone, with the remaining balance due upon your arrival. We recommend calling in advance to secure your spot.
If I reserve a private range, what time do I have to be there?
We encourage you to arrive as early as possible to maximize your day. If you plan to arrive after 9:00 AM, please call us to inform us of your arrival time. You can also advise us of your arrival time while making your reservation.
Miscellaneous Inquiries
What kind of food do you sell?
We offer a selection of refreshments, including soda, water, chips, and cookies.
Do you rent firearms?
No, we do not offer firearm rentals at this time.
Do you sell clay throwers?
Yes, we sell hand-throwers for $10 and offer spring-loaded throwers for
$25 for 4 hours.
Can I bring my barbecue if I rent a private range?
Yes, you may bring a propane or gas grill. Charcoal grills are not permitted.
Can I use my own target frame?
Yes, as long as your target frames do not contain any type of metal or plywood. We recommend using plastic PVC tubing or untreated wood. Wooden pallets and cardboard cut-outs are not considered acceptable frames.
Do I need to purchase a U.S. Forest Service's 'Adventure Pass' to shoot in Burro Canyon Shooting Park?
No, an Adventure Pass is not required to shoot at Burro Canyon Shooting Park. However, if you plan to park or visit areas outside our park, you will need to purchase one.
Do you offer any type of formal firearms training?
Yes, Burro Canyon Shooting Park has several highly qualified firearms trainers. For more information, please email us at Training@BurroCanyon.com.
Can I shoot all my guns for one range fee?
Absolutely! Your range fee allows you to shoot all your shotguns, rifles, and pistols. You may move freely between the rifle and pistol ranges.
What should I bring with me on my first visit?
Bring your firearms, any necessary accessories, and anything else you may need while shooting in the beautiful Angeles National Forest. We stock common ammunition, paper targets, biodegradable clays, throwers, eye and ear protection, and rifle rests.
I'm a police officer and I'd like to train on my own; can you accommodate me?
Yes! Private ranges are best suited for this type of shooting.

What are the benefits of becoming a member?
Shipping times vary based on your location and the shipping method chosen. Standard shipping typically takes 5-7 business days, while expedited shipping options are available for faster delivery.
Do I have to be a member to shoot there?
No, everyone is welcome to enjoy a day of shooting at the park.
